Who we are?

Daridra Durikoron Sangstha (DADUS) is a Bangladeshi NGO, which was started by a retired Army doctor, Major Gen. (Retd.) Prof. Dr. A.R Khan in 1992 who felt poor people must be uplifted so that they can live a healthy and financially sustainable life. As a doctor, he knew health is key to keeping people productive, but at the same time he also felt other activities can be initiated to assist with their livelihood. DADUS was initially formed to serve the people of his village in Khoria of Dhaka district but its mandate now covers all of Bangladesh. It is a registered NGO, with approval from NGO Affairs Bureau and Social Welfare Council of the Ministry of Social Welfare. An Executive Board was formed with eminent professionals and the organization started focusing its activities for poverty eradication, social safety net and security, women & children empowerment, infrastructural development, economic activities, etc. DADUS is operated by a strong & dedicated team who are deeply committed to the vision of poverty reduction.

DADUS assistance has helped approximately 5600 peoples since 1992.
