Our Mission
We empower marginalised communities through strategic initiatives in education, healthcare, and economic development. Our goal is to create environments where opportunities flourish and no individual is left behind due to socio-economic constraints.

Major General (Retd.) Professor Dr. A. R. Khan
Major General (Retd.) Professor Dr. A. R. Khan is a visionary leader and a lifelong advocate for poverty alleviation, social welfare, and community development. Despite his distinguished career, he leads a remarkably simple life, dedicating himself entirely to the well-being of underprivileged communities. Even in retirement, he remains deeply engaged in humanitarian efforts, working tirelessly to uplift marginalized populations.
As the Founder & Chairman of DADUS (Daridro Durikoron Songostha), Dr. Khan has initiated numerous programs focused on education, healthcare, self-employment, poverty alleviation, and women’s financial empowerment. Through DADUS, he provides sewing machines for women’s economic independence, builds libraries to promote education, establishes children’s parks for creative development, supports fish farming initiatives, and ensures access to safe sanitation. His impact is particularly evident in Shinepukur village, Dohar Upazila, where he has spearheaded multiple community-driven projects.
Beyond DADUS, Dr. Khan has an extensive legacy of service. He is a Founding Member of the National Heart Foundation, Life Member of the Bangladesh Red Cross and Red Crescent, and Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. He has also chaired the Human Development Foundation, the Kaderia Foundation, and the Professor Khan Abdur Razzak-Gulshan Ara Foundation, through which he has established a 30-bed nonprofit hospital in his village and a free primary school in Dhaka for underprivileged children. Besides he is also working as the founding Chairman of Khan Welfare Foundation, an organization also approved & registered by the government.
Dr. Khan’s dedication to maternal and child healthcare led him to establish the Mother and Child Foundation, aiming to improve medical access in rural areas. Additionally, he runs the Free Friday Clinic in DOHS, Dhaka, ensuring healthcare support for those in need. His contributions extend to infrastructure development, including road construction and educational initiatives such as Padma Degree College in Dohar, which is now registered under MPO.
His professional achievements include serving as Chairman of Glaxo Pharmaceuticals, Director of IFIC Bank for nine years, and President of the Lions Club of Dhaka Prominent. He also worked as the D.G of CMH hospital & BIRDEM Hospital, where he is now working as the ombudsman of BIRDEM. He also had the position of Advisor for Health & Family affairs as well as the Advisor for Religious Affairs. His leadership in various social, medical, and financial organizations reflects his deep commitment to national development.
Dr. Khan believes that education and financial empowerment are key to building a healthier, stronger society. He urges individuals and organizations to contribute to these efforts, emphasizing that collective action can bring about transformative change. "Serving people brings me peace of mind," he says, reaffirming his lifelong mission to improve lives and create a lasting impact.

Major General Dr. K. M. Omar Hassan
Sadman Sakib Khan Sami is a dedicated professional currently serving as the Communication & Development Officer at DADUS. In this role, he is responsible for managing public relations, representing the organization on both domestic and global platforms, and maintaining its online and offline connections. He plays a key role in policy development, strategic planning, and drafting project proposals to drive the organization’s growth and impact.
With expertise in leadership, program management, fundraising, research, networking, and strategic thinking, Sadman has been actively involved in various impactful roles. He also works as a General Knowledge Instructor at Udvash-Unmesh, previously served as the Head of Ambassadors & Strategic Team Leader at I Education, and held the position of Secretary of Specialized Assignments at Amar Ma Foundation.
At DADUS, he leads the Communication & Development Team, manages all aspects of public relations, and contributes as one of the key strategy makers within the organization. His work is driven by a strong passion for human rights advocacy and poverty alleviation, fueling his commitment to making a meaningful impact.
Currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the University of Dhaka, Sadman continues to work passionately for the overall development of DADUS, ensuring its sustained growth and influence in the nonprofit sector.

Obaidur Rahman Khan
Obaidur Rahman Khan is the General Secretary of DADUS, playing a pivotal role in policy-making and shaping the overall vision of the organization. With over 15 years of dedicated service alongside Chairman Major Gen. (Retd.) Prof. Dr. A.R. Khan, he has been instrumental in managing executive duties and strengthening the organization’s structure and efficiency. Professionally, Obaidur serves as the Head of Branch Operations at IFIC Bank, Banani Branch, demonstrating his expertise in leadership, program management, fundraising, networking, and social welfare. His commitment to community development is evident through his past roles as the President of Bondhu Kollan Society and an Executive Member of the Graduate Association of Dohar, along with his involvement in various social welfare initiatives. At DADUS, his leadership has transformed the organization from a previously disorganized state into a well-structured and professionally managed institution. His strategic vision has helped streamline operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and greater impact.Driven by a passion for social welfare, Obaidur is committed to uplifting marginalized communities and positioning DADUS as a leading force in development. Holding a B.Com (Hons.) and M.Com (Hons.) in Accounting from Jagannath University, Dhaka, he envisions a future where DADUS continues to grow as a reputable organization dedicated to grassroots empowerment.

Mahmudur Rahman Khan
Mahmud Khan is a Senior Information Technology Consultant with over thirty years of experience, in Systems Engineering, Product and Program Management, business process analysis and optimization. With PMI PMP and Agile-Scrum Alliance Scrum Master, Scrum Product Owner credentials, he has demonstrated his proficiency and expertise in managing complex programs and innovative products development projects. He has coached and managed multiple US and global, cross-functional hardware and software development teams. He has had a very long and successful career with Honeywell Aerospace Division, serving in several engineering leadership roles leading to the position of Chief Engineer for Cabin Communications Systems.
As the founder, President of Clarus Aero LLC, he led the product design and development teams, set the business strategy and executed the marketing of a low-cost Iridium Satcom based communication gateway and Wi-Fi In-Flight Entertainment solution for use onboard narrow body, single aisle commercial airlines aircraft. As a technology consultant, his passion is to apply his skills and knowledge to create value-added solutions and processes that enhance the performance and efficiency of businesses and organizations. Mahmud has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Dakota, and an MIM (MBA) from the Thunderbird Graduate School at Arizona State University, USA.

Taufiqur Rahman
Taufiqur Rahman is an international development expert and has worked for international NGOs, multi-lateral financing organizations, donor agencies, and international NGOs. He has over 35 years of global experiences with well-honed skills in portfolio management, operational planning, program design & proposal development, business planning, strategic partnerships, implementation management, results-based management, change management, M&E, data-driven strategy development, research & evaluation, team management, & relationship management. He has worked for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, WHO/UNITAID, UNAIDS/WHO, AusAID, US and UK international NGOs. Taufique has worked in several countries in Asia and North Africa, and has managed large & complex projects in geographically dispersed & security challenged operational settings, managing a portfolio of approximately $2 billion at the Global Fund and over $300 million at UNITAID. He has excellent track record of multi-sectoral partnership management, advocacy, technical collaboration, capacity building, country ownership, and resource mobilization. His programmatic expertise is in health, education, nutrition, health financing, health systems, environment, and governance. Taufique has MBA and BA degrees from the University of Wisconsin, USA, Advanced International Health Management Certificate from Boston University, USA, and Information Systems degree from Sydney, Australia.

Mohammad Ilias Hossain
Mohammad Ilias Hossain is an Executive Committee Member at DADUS, contributing his expertise in leadership, strategic planning, and research & development. He is also a BCS Cadre (27th BCS, Education). As an Assistant Professor of Chemistry (BCS General Education) at Chandpur Govt. Mohila College, he brings a strong academic background and analytical approach to the organization's initiatives.
Although new to the development sector, Ilias is deeply committed to creating impactful change. His vision aligns with DADUS’s mission to uplift marginalized communities and build a poverty-free Bangladesh. He believes in working with dignity and honor for the betterment of society, using his strategic insight to drive meaningful progress.
His academic journey includes earning a BSc (Hons.) and MS in Chemistry from the University of Dhaka, following his early education at Khilgaon Govt. High School and Dhaka College. His disciplined and research-oriented background equips him to contribute effectively to policy-making and development strategies within DADUS.
With a passion for social progress, Ilias aspires to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact. His dedication to DADUS reflects his belief that education, planning, and community-driven efforts can transform lives and create a more equitable future.

Barirah Alam Samira
Barirah Alam Samira is a passionate advocate for business development, social impact, and community engagement. With a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from North South University, Dhaka, she began her career in the banking sector, gaining valuable experience in financial management. However, her drive to create meaningful change led her beyond the corporate world into the realm of social development.
After moving to the United States, Barirah explored diverse cultures across multiple states, broadening her understanding of global challenges. She is currently pursuing an MBA in Business Development at Texas A&M University while excelling as a Retail Store Manager at AT&T, where she has earned top-tier recognition among Houston stores.
Her firsthand experiences in Bangladesh exposed her to the harsh realities of healthcare disparities affecting underprivileged communities. Determined to bridge this gap, she joined DADUS, where she actively contributes to healthcare access and wellness initiatives. With strong leadership, communication, and networking skills, she plays a vital role in community engagement and advocacy.
An extrovert with a strong social media presence, Barirah believes in the power of collaboration and strategic networking to drive change. She envisions DADUS as a movement toward a healthier, more equitable world and invites others to join in making a lasting impact.

Ruhanur Islam Khan Arnob
Ruhanur Islam Khan Arnob is an integral part of the Communication & Development Team at DADUS, where he actively contributes to strengthening the organization’s public relations, representing it on both national and international platforms, and ensuring seamless online and offline communication. Under the guidance of the Communication & Development Officer, he plays a key role in shaping policies, drafting project proposals, and strategizing for the organization's growth and impact.
With a strong foundation in research and networking, Arnob has been involved in various academic and professional initiatives. He serves as the Lead Researcher at Insight Canvas, conducts research at Afsar’s Quest, and is a member of the Dhaka University Research Society (DURS). He also participated as a student ambassador in the international seminar “The Rohingyas in Bangladesh: In Search of a Sustainable Future.”
At DADUS, he is committed to formulating development strategies and enhancing the organization’s outreach. Currently pursuing a B.S.S. (Hons) in International Relations at the University of Dhaka, Arnob is particularly focused on fundraising and network building to drive long-term sustainability. His dedication to addressing the challenges faced by marginalized communities fuels his passion for meaningful social change.
