Founded in the heart of Dhaka,Daridra Durikoron Sangstha (DADUS) stands as a beacon of hope and development for the underprivileged. As a non-governmental, non-profit entity, we are deeply committed to eradicating poverty and fostering sustainable community growth across Bangladesh.

Story of DADUS

DADUS is a Bangladeshi Non-profit organization having its Headquarters in Tejgaon, Dhaka and field office in Shinepukur village of Dohar Thana of Dhaka. It provides support and medical services to poor people of Moksudpur village of Dohar thana community, especially to unemployed young generation and patients with high blood pressure and diabetes.

DADUS was established in the year 1992 and was registered in the year 1995 with Social Welfare Office under Dhaka Division. Finally, in 2017 DADUS got registered under NGO Affairs Bureau. Currrent approved registration of DADUS will continue to 2027, at which time the registration will be renewed. DADUS has submitted annual reports as per Social Welfare Office and NGOAB requirements.

DADUS was established by Major General (Retd.) PROF. Dr. A R Khan who is presently the Chairman of the Executive Board.

Prof. Dr. A R Khan is one of the top-rated doctors of our Country and is the Chief Consultant of Medicine Department in Dhaka Diabetic Hospital. It needs mentioning that in the year 1996 Dr. A R Khan also played the role of Advisor to the Care Taker Government in the Ministry of Health and Religion Affairs.

Also respected individuals like Major General (Retd.) Dr. Omar Hasan, one of the renowned medicines and neurology expert is in the organization's management committee along with Maj. Gen (Retd.) Mohammad Ishtiaq who is also a very respected professional.

DADUS advisory committee includes international experts who worked for the United Nations and international organizations as well as international private companies. These individuals bring considerable experience in project management, IT, finance, health, and community-based projects to help guide the organization. They passionately believe in supporting projects for the welfare of the poorest of the poor in Dhaka district.

DADUS initiated a number of activities based on donations from private individuals. DADUS also partnered with Khan Foundation... to improve three acre land for the community.

Our Objectives:

To assist poor families to achieve good health and economic well-being by providing resources, technical assistance, education, and community-based projects.

  4. Build Resilient Communities: Strengthen community resilience through disaster relief, rehabilitation, and sustainable development initiatives.
  5. Advance Environmental Sustainability: Promote eco-friendly practices, such as social forestry and resource management, to ensure a healthier planet.
  6. Foster Social Cohesion: Create safe spaces and community programs that support children, the elderly, and distressed adolescents while promoting cultural and social engagement.
  7. Amplify Voices: Establish platforms for creative expression and academic work through state-of-the-art printing and publication facilities.
