Project Description

The Fish Farming & Household Self-Reliance Initiative is a livelihood development programme implemented by DADUS in collaboration with COBA to create sustainable income-generating opportunities for economically vulnerable families.

Built around the principle of self-reliance, the initiative provides productive resources that enable selected households to engage in small-scale fish farming and develop potential sources of recurring income. Under the programme, 20 families were selected as pilot beneficiaries to receive fish tanks and essential support for fish cultivation.

The implementation process included three structured meetings focused on stakeholder engagement, coordination and beneficiary preparation. The third meeting marked a significant milestone, with the District Administration in attendance, strengthening institutional engagement and local coordination.

Following the meetings, fish tanks were distributed among 20 selected families through the joint initiative of DADUS and COBA. The programme represents more than asset distribution; it is an investment in household productivity, economic resilience and long-term self-reliance, transforming assistance into opportunity and supporting families toward greater independence and dignity.
